Google has showcased the upgraded features of its AI-powered research tool, NotebookLM, by creating a digital notebook filled with information from its I/O 2025 developer conference. The new tool allows users to easily digest news and details from various sources, including press releases, blog posts, YouTube videos, and more.
To access the content, users can visit individual sources or ask the AI tool questions in a chat box, which will provide quick answers based on the provided material. Additionally, NotebookLM now offers two new features: an audio overview generator that provides spoken summaries of uploaded information, and a Mind Map creator that visually organizes data into smaller topics.
Google has also released an official app for NotebookLM to coincide with I/O 2025. Users can download it on Android or iOS devices and access the notebook after signing in with a Google account.
NotebookLM has been improved with features like enhanced creativity, grounding responses in provided material, and ability to generate audio summaries and Mind Maps. However, users should be aware that, like all AI tools, NotebookLM can generate inaccuracies.
