Google has made significant changes to its Workspace platform by offering all AI features in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Meet to customers at no extra charge. Previously, users required a separate $20 per user per month plan called Gemini for Workplace. The updated pricing simplifies access to tools like email summaries, automated note-taking, and chatting with the Gemini bot.
The new standard plan now costs $14 per user per month, increasing by $2 from its current price of $12 per user. Existing customers will see changes on March 17, 2025, while small business customers are exempt from these pricing adjustments for now. Users who previously purchased the Gemini add-on will no longer be charged after January 31.
Google’s move is part of a competitive push against Microsoft and other companies that have integrated AI capabilities into their standard offerings, such as Microsoft’s bundled Copilot Pro features with its Microsoft 365 subscription in November.
