Google Unveils Gemini 2.0 AI Chatbot with Enhanced Features

Google has released Gemini 2.0, an advanced version of its chatbot, with several new features and models. The latest update includes a Pro version that boasts improved coding performance and complex prompts.

Gemini 2.0 Pro is available in Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, and the Gemini app for advanced users, offering enhanced performance. The company claims it’s their best model yet.

Additionally, Gemini 2.0 Flash is now available via the Gemini API, allowing developers to build production applications with this smaller and more efficient version of the chatbot. This move counters Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, which launched its generative AI tool in January.

Google has also introduced Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite, a cost-efficient alternative that’s now available for developers. The company says this is its most cost-efficient model yet.

Developers with the Gemini app can try out Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental, which uses reasoning capabilities to break down user prompts into steps and provide better responses to complex queries. This version also interacts with Google apps like Maps, YouTube, and Search.

The release of Gemini 2.0 is part of a series of AI announcements from Google, including the launch of Project Astra on Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphones and Daily Listen feature that generates audio summaries of news updates based on user activity.
