Google has introduced two new features for its flagship AI product, Gemini. Starting today, users can utilize the Canvas feature to draft, edit, and refine documents or code. This feature allows users to upload a document and instruct Gemini on how to process it, with options such as speech-to-text, suggested edits, and tone adjustments.
Additionally, Gemini is now equipped with Audio Overviews, first introduced in Google’s NotebookLM product. This capability enables users to generate audio summaries from text-based inputs, providing a more immersive experience.
The Canvas feature can be accessed through the Gemini prompt bar on both web and mobile applications. Users can refine AI-generated documents within the editor or export them to Google Docs for further editing. For coding tasks, Canvas generates prototype web apps, Python scripts, HTML, and other languages, allowing users to collaborate and make real-time changes inside Gemini.
These new features enhance Gemini’s capabilities and provide users with more efficient tools for document creation and code development.
