Google has introduced its own version of “MagSafe” called PixelSnap, which allows users to attach magnetic accessories to the newly launched Pixel 10 series of devices. The company’s announcement comes nearly five years after Apple introduced its own MagSafe technology with the iPhone 12.
PixelSnap enables users to attach wireless chargers, stands, grips, and other accessories to their Pixel 10 devices. The simplest accessory is a Ring Stand that attaches to the phone like a puck and can be pulled out to use as a stand. All new Pixel devices are compatible with the Qi2 wireless standard, with different charging speeds for each model.
Google is also launching a new PixelSnap charger and an optional stand. The charger can be used on its own or in conjunction with the stand, which allows users to charge their phone while using it or displaying home control widgets.
PixelSnap cases start at $49.99, with the Ring Stand priced at $29.99 and the charger costing $39.99 and $69.99 for a bundle. The company’s accessories are designed to work with Pixel 10 devices, as well as car mounts, chargers, and other accessories from Made for Google partners, along with certain MagSafe accessories.
