Google updates Gemini on iPhone with new features and design tweaks.

Google has released two major updates for its Gemini app on iPhone, bringing new features and a redesigned interface. The first update, version 1.2025.0670001, makes changes to the app’s chat bar, moving the microphone icon to the right and removing it from the writing field. This design change extends the writing field horizontally across the display.

The second update, version 1.2025.0762303, focuses on the lock screen widget, allowing iPhone users to launch Gemini immediately through any of the six tools available: Type Prompt, Talk Live, Open Mic, Use Camera, Share Image, and Share File. This feature enables users to share text, images, and links with Gemini from any app.

The updates also include UI improvements and bug fixes, as well as new features for Gemini Advanced users, such as referencing past chats for a more tailored experience. Google has reiterated its goal of delivering a more personalized experience for iPhone users, building on the capabilities introduced in November when the Gemini on iPhone was launched.

These changes mark an effort by Google to make Gemini easier to use and more accessible on iPhone devices. The app’s versatility extends beyond image creation, with features like Imagen 3 that enable users to create high-quality images through prompts to the AI. With these updates, Gemini aims to provide a seamless user experience for iPhone users, whether they’re looking to study, create content, or simply engage in conversations.
