To protect yourself, do not click on any links or buttons within these emails. Instead, go to your Google Account settings and review recent security events. If any concerns arise, change your password immediately.
Attackers often use phishing tactics, including fake emails that appear legitimate but contain malicious links. Never click on such links, and always use the app or sign-in page you usually use in your browser.
Additionally, consider using passkeys to prevent account hijacks, especially for services like Google, Amazon, and others. It’s essential to keep your accounts secure, as hacking can lead to lost content and stolen login credentials.
Google is also warning about fake voicemail notifications being used to steal login credentials. Malware analyst Anurag flagged this issue, highlighting the dangers of seemingly harmless emails that trick users into entering sensitive information.
To stay safe, use email aliasing services like Proton, Firefox, or DuckDuckGo, which allow you to generate unique random email addresses for each service. This will mask your real email address and prevent spammers from accessing it.
