Google has confirmed that hackers claiming to be affiliated with the cl0p ransomware gang are sending extortion emails to executives at various companies, including those using Oracle business applications. The group claims to have stolen sensitive data, but Google says it lacks evidence to verify these claims. Cynthia Kaiser, head of cybersecurity firm Halcyon’s Ransomware Research Center, notes that similar demands from other groups often come with higher price tags, up to $50 million.
