Google has introduced a new feature called “Catch me up” in its Gemini side panel within Google Drive, offering users a powerful AI experience to stay updated on their files. This capability helps users easily identify relevant files with changes since their last view and provides an overview of those changes.
The feature can be accessed as a new button in the “Ask Gemini” carousel of suggestions, which opens to generate bullet points. It can also be used on individual documents to identify changes made since the user’s last view. A Gemini circle next to the file name indicates changes to the file since the last time it was viewed.
The feature is rolling out over the coming weeks for Google Workspace users with eligible plans, including Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, customers with Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-on, and Google One AI Premium (now Pro and Ultra). Additionally, other features like video analysis in Gemini and personalized smart replies in Gmail are also available.
