Google’s Gboard App Gets Auto-Switch Feature for Faster Typing

Google has introduced a new feature in its Gboard app that helps users type more efficiently. The “Auto-switch after apostrophe” feature, found in the latest beta version (v16.2.4.815623744), automatically switches back to the letter keyboard after tapping the apostrophe key.

This feature, which is currently available for several languages including English, French, and others, aims to improve typing speed by reducing unnecessary keystrokes. Users who frequently use contractions or possessives will benefit from this new feature, as it allows them to quickly switch between letters.

Although Google isn’t the first company to implement this change, its introduction of the “Auto-switch after apostrophe” feature is a step towards enhancing user experience. The feature is currently in testing phase and will be rolled out to general users once tested thoroughly.
