Google’s new AI prototype, Jarvis, was accidentally made available on the Chrome Web Store before its planned reveal in December. The software is designed to be a “helpful companion” that assists users with tasks such as buying groceries, booking flights, and researching topics through web browsers.
In full working mode, Jarvis would allow computers to complete these tasks without manual human input. However, the prototype was not yet functional due to access permissions preventing it from performing any actions.
Google swiftly removed the Jarvis store page by mid-afternoon. The development comes ahead of its planned reveal in December and may face competition from other AI assistants like Anthropic’s Claude AI, which has already started its public beta phase.
