The 2025 Grammy Awards are still scheduled to take place at the beginning of February, but three major labels have canceled their Grammy week events due to several deadly wildfires that have affected the Los Angeles area.
Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group have all opted to cancel their Grammy-related events. Universal Music Group announced it would redirect resources to aid wildfire relief efforts after its employees living in nearby Palisades were hit particularly hard. Sony Music Entertainment will also donate funds to focus on local relief efforts in L.A.
The Clive Davis pre-Grammy gala, which celebrates its 50th years, is still scheduled to take place. However, several other events have been canceled or postponed due to the wildfires, including the MusiCares Person of the Year, BMG Pre-Grammy Party, and Clio Music Awards.
The Recording Academy has announced that it will include “a special appeal for donations to support wildfire relief efforts” at the MusiCares Person of the Year event. ASCAP, the association for songwriters, composers, and music publishers, has created an emergency relief fund in the amount of $1 million for its members affected by the LA fires.
The 2025 Grammy Awards will air live on CBS from the Crypto.com Arena in downtown L.A., with Beyoncé leading the pack of nominees with 11 nominations.
