Rockstar Games has confirmed the release date of its highly anticipated game, Grand Theft Auto VI. According to CEO Strauss Zelnick, the game is expected to be released in fall 2025. This announcement comes after a decade-long wait since the last main installment, Grand Theft Auto V, was released in 2013.
The game will be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, marking the first main game in the series since GTA V. The fictional state of Leonida is expected to feature attractions like Vice Beach and Vice City, which are based on Florida.
Gaming fans were eager to see a release date for GTA VI after the trailer was released in December 2023, with over 93 million views in its first 24 hours. The game promises to be the biggest evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.
