Rockstar Games has confirmed that the highly anticipated “Grand Theft Auto VI” will release in fall 2025. The game’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, stated that his team is feeling optimistic about the project’s prospects.
The game takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, based on Florida, with gameplay featuring iconic locations like Vice Beach and Vice City. GTA VI will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
This marks the first mainline installment since “Grand Theft Auto V” in 2013. Fans had been eagerly waiting for news on the game’s release, given its extended development time frame. The original “Grand Theft Auto” released in 1997, with a total of seven main games and 17 overall installments.
A highly anticipated trailer was released in December 2023, breaking records with over 93 million views within 24 hours.
