A recent study published in The Aging Male suggests that men who regularly drink grape juice may lower their risk of erectile dysfunction (ED). According to the study, consuming grape juice 5 or more times a week was significantly associated with a 79% decrease in ED risk compared to non-consumers.
The researchers analyzed data from over 1,500 US men aged between 40 and 60 years, who were part of the US Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2003-2004. The study found that grape juice consumption was associated with a lower ED risk, while other types of beverages had no significant effect.
The researchers attributed the health benefits of grape juice to its high content of phenolic compounds and non-flavonoid compounds, which have been shown to improve cardiovascular health and reduce inflammation. Red grape juice, in particular, has superior antioxidant properties compared to white grape juice.
The study’s findings are promising for men looking to reduce their risk of ED, particularly those aged 40 years or older. While more research is needed to confirm these results, the study provides valuable insights into the potential benefits of grape juice consumption on erectile health.
