A team of scientists from Northumbria University has analyzed data from two satellite missions, CryoSat and ICESat-2, to study changes in the Greenland ice sheet’s elevation. The research found that the ice sheet is rising slightly over a one-year period.
According to the study, the average increase in ice sheet elevation was 1.7 mm per year between March 2020 and January 2022. This rise may seem minor, but it can have significant implications for global sea levels.
