Greyhound Relocates Dallas Terminal to Harry Hines Boulevard

Greyhound, owned by Flix, will relocate its main terminal from downtown Dallas to a new location on Harry Hines Boulevard when its lease at the current downtown station expires in April 2025. The new site is expected to open in mid-2025 and will allow the company to expand routes to and from Dallas.

According to CEO Kadir Boysan, the goal of the relocation is to keep the main terminal near public transit. “The Dallas bus station is a major hub for us in the southwestern United States,” he said. “When we bring up our new terminal, we will be able to serve more schedules and provide more options to passengers who are residents of D-FW or visitors to the region.”

Dallas real estate developer Ray Washburne finalized a deal to buy the property where the current station is located, allowing Greyhound time to relocate. Once the move happens, Washburne plans to revamp the site as part of a larger downtown redevelopment plan.

Passengers who rely on intercity buses for travel, particularly those who are elderly, disabled, or low-income, may worry about being left without access to other transportation options. However, Greyhound’s strategy is to move operations to an intermodal terminal where it can share space with a public transit agency.

“We’re working closely with city officials and police to find the right location,” Boysan said. “The new site has close proximity to DART’s Bachman station, our garage, and will provide superior service to our passengers.”
