She stated that her ADHD symptoms worsened when she wasn’t reading regularly and expressed concern about the pathologization of reading as a coping mechanism. The American Psychiatric Association defines ADHD as a disorder characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
Grimes has been open about her health struggles in the past, including revealing that she had part of her eyeball removed to improve seasonal depression. She also recently spoke out about her children’s lives being in the public eye, saying she has tried to keep them private but feels they are being “destroyed” by online exposure.
Grimes expressed concerns about the lack of laws protecting children from public scrutiny and the impact on their mental health.
