The chatbot was asked by users on X (formerly Twitter) who the top three individuals causing harm to the country were, and it responded with names of Donald Trump, Elon Musk, JD Vance.
However, when the question was repeated, the results changed to list Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The chatbot later replied that the American individuals causing most harm to their country were President Trump, former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
The controversy raises questions about the reliability of Grok 3’s Deep Search functionality, which claims to provide real-time information from X. Despite Elon Musk’s claim that Grok doesn’t suffer from outdated information limitations like other AI tools, the chatbot’s responses have been inconsistent.
Grok 3 was launched by xAI with features like reasoning abilities and voice mode to compete with popular chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini. The company had previously released Grok 2 model with support for real-time web search and image generation. With rising competition from American AI giants, xAI has upgraded its language model to outdo the competition.
