GTA 6 fans may be disappointed to learn that the highly anticipated game is unlikely to release in 2025 as previously scheduled. According to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, Rockstar Games has decided to delay the game’s launch into 2026 in order to avoid forcing excessive overtime on its developers.
Schreier believes this decision was made due to the immense pressure to deliver a high-quality game and the desire to prevent crunch time for the development team. This approach mirrors Rockstar’s experience with Red Dead Redemption 2, which also required significant overtime to meet its release deadline.
However, Schreier is more optimistic about other games in his prediction list. He predicts that Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch this year, following its initial announcement in 2019, and believes it will sell well. Additionally, he anticipates that Half-Life 3’s confirmation will make 2025 a significant year for the gaming industry.
While these predictions are intriguing, it remains to be seen whether they come to fruition. For now, fans of GTA 6 and other upcoming titles will have to wait and see if Schreier’s predictions hold true.
