A recent leak suggests that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) may be released on September 17, 2025, aligning with the 12th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto 5. The listing was briefly available on a Spanish online retailer’s website before being removed, sparking speculation about its validity.
If confirmed, this would mark a significant milestone in the franchise. However, Rockstar Games has kept details about GTA 6 limited, and no official release date or performance information has been announced.
A former Rockstar Games developer, Mike York, recently discussed his expectations for GTA 6’s performance on consoles. He suggested that 30 frames per second (FPS) might be a more realistic target, citing hardware limitations, rather than the expected 60 FPS.
York mentioned that post-launch updates could improve performance and that advancements in graphics hardware would make 60 FPS achievable on PC once optimization is applied. However, no confirmation from Rockstar Games has been provided regarding these claims.
The leak and industry insights have generated ongoing discussion about GTA 6 ahead of its official launch. With the game scheduled for release in late 2025, fans are eagerly awaiting more information about its performance and features.
