GTA 6’s True “Cash Cow”: Why $100 Isn’t Necessary

Rumors about a $100 price tag for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) have been circulating, but analyst Rhys Elliott believes this is unlikely due to the game’s true cash cow being GTA Online. In an interview with Wccftech, Elliott stated that a high launch price would limit the game’s audience and go against Rockstar’s interests.

Elliott suggests that keeping the standard edition’s price relatively low could be part of Rockstar’s strategy to acquire new players from GTA 5, which is likely to retain its existing player base. He also proposes releasing a premium version for $100 or more, which would cater to those with disposable income and provide an attractive option.

Data shows that people are willing to pay extra for a game they really want, but Elliott believes Rockstar may not charge more than it needs to. Ultimately, he expects the company to settle on a price around $80. With Take-Two’s next earnings report set for August 7, fans will have to wait and see how Rockstar approaches GTA 6’s pricing strategy.
