The decision was made by Triple H, who initially planned for Gunther to defend the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 against Goldberg in his retirement match. However, it will now be a title match, as WWE aims to feature a marquee match on free television against AEW All In: Texas 2025. Goldberg is set to appear on Monday Night RAW in Green Bay, although his return has not been officially announced by WWE.
