Gypsy Rose Blanchard Welcomes First Child After Prison Release

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 33, has become a new mom after giving birth to a daughter on December 28 in Louisiana. The baby’s father, Ken Urker, announced the arrival on his Instagram account on New Year’s Day. Blanchard had served nearly eight years in prison for her role in the fatal stabbing of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard in 2015.

The couple, who reunited after Blanchard’s release, planned to name their child Aurora Raina Urker. Gypsy Rose gained public attention after starring in the Lifetime reality show “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup.” She married Ryan Scott Anderson while behind bars but later split with him and reconnected with Urker.

Blanchard revealed her pregnancy on YouTube in July, stating that she wants to be a good mother for her child. The condition Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which Blanchard allegedly suffered from, is a mental illness where someone acts as if an individual they care for has a physical or mental illness when the person is not really sick.

Following her release, Blanchard expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be a mother and have a chance at a better life.
