A gaming pioneer has successfully hacked a Nintendo Alarmo console, allowing users to play classic FPS game Doom without opening the device. The hack was performed by GaryOderNichts, who previously gained attention for hacking his Alarmo to display a cat photo.
To squeeze the WAD file into memory, Gary modified the game’s sound feature, which is absent in the original version. However, the shareware version of Doom can be played on the console via the USB port, utilizing the Alarmo’s buttons and wheel for movement, shooting, and door opening.
The innovative hack showcases Gary’s exceptional skills as a modder, demonstrating that it’s possible to explore new creative possibilities with the Alarmo console.
