Haley Joel Osment, the former child actor from “The Sixth Sense,” has expressed regret over his behavior during a recent arrest in California. Authorities confirmed that Osment was arrested and booked for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance at a ski lodge in Mammoth Lakes.
Bodycam footage published by several outlets showed Osment using an antisemitic slur while calling an officer a “Nazi.” In a statement to People magazine, Osment apologized for his behavior, saying he is “absolutely horrified” and acknowledges that his use of the language was unacceptable. He attributed his behavior to being in a “very low emotional place” following recent losses.
Osment’s sister Emily recently announced that their parents lost their homes in the Eaton wildfire, which destroyed much of the Altadena neighborhood north of Los Angeles. Osment faces charges of disorderly conduct and possession of cocaine, both misdemeanors, and is due to be arraigned on July 7.
