Hamas has stated that only a ceasefire deal will secure the release of its remaining hostages, according to a recent statement from the organization. The group claims it is ready to negotiate but notes that talks on releasing more living hostages have stalled.
The terrorist organization’s demands come as the remains of four hostages were returned to Israel and approximately 600 Palestinian prisoners are set to be released pending official confirmation of their bodies.
Hamas says negotiations with Israeli officials, led by U.S. Ambassador David Friedman’s deputy, Hady Witkoff, have made “no real progress” on securing more living hostages or agreeing on a ceasefire.
