A senior Hamas official has urged the international community to pressure Israel into lifting its blockade on Gaza, amid concerns over the ceasefire deal’s collapse. Osama Hamdan made the call in a televised statement, criticizing Israeli actions and expressing concern about humanitarian aid reaching the territory.
According to Hamdan, the Palestinian group has honored its commitments under the agreement but faces obstacles from Israeli violations. He condemned Israel for killing 116 Palestinians during the truce, while allowing only a fraction of the agreed-upon fuel trucks into Gaza.
Hamdan also expressed outrage over the treatment of Palestinian detainees, citing torture and medical neglect as reasons for his group’s accusations against Israel. The Hamas official urged the international community to intervene, emphasizing the need for unhindered access to humanitarian aid.
Global leaders have condemned Israel’s move, with Germany stating that blocking aid is not a legitimate means of pressure in negotiations. Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan have also expressed outrage over the blockade, calling it a blatant violation of the ceasefire and humanitarian law.
