Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh has declined to comment on the NCAA’s punishment, which includes fines that could reach $30 million. The 74-page ruling announced penalties levied against him, including a 10-year show-cause order restricting athletically related activities in college during a four-year period.
Harbaugh, 61, was coach at Michigan from 2015-23 and previously dealt with another show-cause order for recruiting violations. He hired Connor Stalions, the ringleader of an illegal sign-stealing scheme, as a recruiting analyst. The NCAA investigation found Harbaugh’s involvement in the scheme, leading to the current penalties. Michigan announced it will appeal the ruling, while Harbaugh has stated he is “done engaging” with the NCAA.
