Harvard University has won a temporary court order blocking the enforcement of Donald Trump’s ban on international students at the US institution, dealing a blow to a contentious policy with far-reaching implications for higher education in America. On Friday, US District Judge Allison Burroughs ruled that the government cannot enforce the directive, which was imposed just hours after Harvard filed a lawsuit against it in Boston federal court. The judge granted Harvard a temporary restraining order, finding that it would suffer “immediate and irreparable injury” if the ban were to take effect.
