Weinstein, 73, has pleaded not guilty and denies all charges. His lawyers argue that his stay at Rikers exacerbates his health problems, which include cancer, heart issues, and diabetes. A recent tongue infection was misdiagnosed at Rikers, requiring hospitalization, and he has gained weight in the past month. The prosecution and defense have used seven of their 15 peremptory challenges to reject potential jurors, leaving eight on each side. Jury selection will resume Thursday with a fresh group of prospective jurors.
