The fourth-ranked Hawaii men’s volleyball team defeated No. 5 Brigham Young 25-18, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 in Provo, Utah, to remain undefeated this season. Kristian Titriyski led the way with a match-high 17 kills and seven digs, while Louis Sakanoko added 13 kills.
Hawaii’s middle blocker Kurt Nusterer tied his career high in blocks for the second straight match with 10, helping the team secure its fourth consecutive win. Coach Charlie Wade earned his 300th win as the Rainbow Warriors won both matches this weekend.
The teams battled back and forth in a close set, but Hawaii eventually took control. In the fourth set, BYU led 20-18 before Hawaii closed on a 7-2 run to take the lead. Titriyski’s final kill put UH ahead, and Sakanoko ended the rally with a kill off the block.
Setter Tread Rosenthal finished with 42 assists, while Keoni Thiim had 14 kills for BYU. Hawaii will host No. 9 Stanford on Wednesday and Friday to continue its undefeated season.
