A 26-year Army veteran, Nicole Pruitt, is being hailed as a hero after stopping an unruly passenger from storming the cockpit on board a Delta flight last week. Pruitt, a grandmother of one, was flying from Atlanta to Tucson to meet her new grandson when the incident occurred.
According to Pruitt, the woman attempting to access the cockpit claimed she had received a divine directive to leave the plane. Pruitt, however, refused to let the disruption prevent her from visiting her family. She intervened and helped detain the passenger until the plane could turn around and safely land.
The incident has sparked widespread praise for Pruitt’s courageous act, with many calling her a hero and thanking Delta for their response to the situation. The airline has since acknowledged the actions of the crew and customers who de-escalated the situation, apologizing to affected customers for the delay.
