Heung-Min Son Leaves Tottenham Hotspur for LAFC

Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed that Heung-Min Son is leaving the club permanently to join LAFC. The 33-year-old South Korean forward, who joined the team in 2015, will be remembered as one of the greatest players in Spurs history. During his decade-long tenure, Son made 454 appearances and scored 173 goals, becoming the fifth-highest scorer in the Club’s history.

Son was appointed captain in 2023 and had many memorable moments on the pitch, including scoring the first official goal at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019. He also led the team to UEFA Europa League glory in Bilbao in May 2025, becoming one of 13 captains in Spurs history to lift a major trophy.

Chairman Daniel Levy praised Son’s contributions to the Club, describing him as “one of the greatest players to ever wear the famous Lilywhite shirt” and an “incredible human being.” The Europa League triumph was hailed as a magical moment in the Club’s history, and Son will always be welcomed back at Tottenham Hotspur as a beloved member of the Spurs family.
