A 23-year-old medical student from Melbourne, Hadi Nazari, went missing on December 26 while hiking in Kosciuszko National Park in New South Wales state. He had traveled over 6 miles across dense terrain before being rescued after approaching a group of hikers on Wednesday afternoon. Despite having only two muesli bars and foraging for berries and creek water to survive, Nazari was found to be in “great condition” with only minor dehydration treatment needed at the hospital. A major search operation involving over 300 people had been underway since his disappearance.
