HMD’s first smartwatch, the Rubber 1, is reportedly launching with a built-in camera. Leaks suggest that one of the two Wear OS-powered smartwatches, also known as Rubber 1 and Rubber 1S, may include this feature, marking its debut for Google’s Wear OS software. The HMD Rubber 1 is expected to focus on kids, providing a convenient way for them to stay in touch with their guardians through video calls.
The camera-equipped watch will feature a 2MP front-facing camera, a 1.85-inch OLED display, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi connectivity. It will also boast a 5ATM waterproof body, an accelerometer, a heart rate sensor, a blood oxygen level sensor, and Qi-based wireless charging.
A smaller version of the watch, the Rubber 1S, is expected to have fewer specs, with a 1.07-inch OLED display, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and similar sensors. Although the launch date remains unclear, it’s possible that these Wear OS smartwatches will become available in India.
For now, fans of HMD and Google’s Wear OS are eagerly awaiting more information on these upcoming smartwatches, including their pricing and availability details.
