Beloved TV personality Hoda Kotb concluded her 16-year run on the popular morning show Today by reading a heartfelt “love letter” to viewers during her final episode. The 60-year-old shared her gratitude for the love and support she’s received from fans over the years, thanking them for embracing her as a new mom after becoming one in her 50s.
Kotb reflected on her journey from hard news to morning television, crediting Kathie Lee Gifford with “choosing” her and changing her life. She also praised Jenna Bush Hager, welcoming her six years ago, for bringing “uncontrollable laughter and pure friendship” into the show.
With her decision to leave the show largely driven by a desire to focus on her two young daughters, Haley (7) and Hope (5), Kotb expressed her appreciation for having a front-row seat to fans’ lives. She said that celebrating her 60th birthday in August sparked inspiration to make a change.
In her goodbye letter, Kotb conveyed her love and gratitude to fans, stating she’s “become who I am on this show” with their support. The show will be renamed Today with Jenna & Friends following her departure.
