Hoda Kotb Surprised by 60 Tri Delta Sisters at Rockefeller Center Plaza

Hoda Kotb kicked off her final week on Today with a surprise visit from dozens of sorority sisters from across the country. The Virginia Tech alumna, who is leaving the show after a decade-long run, was overwhelmed by the sudden arrival of 60 Tri Delta sisters.

The Hokie Bird mascot even made an appearance to greet Kotb at Rockefeller Center’s plaza. The sisters, who were largely unaware of their surprise visit, arrived with just two weeks’ notice and spent the day rushing up for hugs with Kotb and her fellow alumnae.

Today has designated this week as a “Hodabration” and is welcoming visitors to the plaza on a first-come, first-served basis. The show’s transition plan includes Craig Melvin taking over Kotb’s co-anchor spot alongside Savannah Guthrie next week, while Jenna Bush Hager will continue to guest host during the fourth hour.

Actors Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer, and Eva Longoria are set to join Bush Hager as guest hosts next week. In a heartwarming moment, Bush Hager joked that Kotb had helped her manifest an amazing lineup of guests for her show.
