Virginia Tech received its first commitment in the 2026 class with wide receiver Carnell Warren, who chose the Hokies during the Under Armour All-American Game on ESPN2. A four-star prospect, Warren is ranked as the No. 44 wide receiver and No. 6 South Carolina recruit by ESPN.
Warren’s impressive junior season saw him catch 59 passes for 846 yards and 14 touchdowns while also contributing to his school’s basketball team with 13.6 points per game. He previously received an offer from Tech in May, but had two unofficial visits during the 2024 season.
With Warren joining Tennessee transfer Cameron Seldon, six of the 10 wideouts on next year’s roster are former four-star prospects. The Hokies’ wide receiver room has become a talent hub under coach Fontel Mines.
Warren is the second player in the 2026 class to verbal commitments to Tech, following quarterback Peyton Falzone who retracted his pledge in November. While opinions vary on whether Warren will stick with the Hokies or sign with USC, the addition highlights the program’s growing appeal.
