Hollywood Heavyweights Pledge Millions to LA Fire Relief Efforts

As Los Angeles continues to battle devastating wildfires that have destroyed parts of the city and killed at least 24 people, corporations are stepping up to aid in relief efforts. Netflix and Comcast each announced a $10 million donation, split between groups such as the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, World Central Kitchen, and the American Red Cross.

Other major media companies and entertainment corporations also pledged significant amounts, including The Walt Disney Company ($15 million), Fox Corporation ($1 million), Warner Bros. Discovery ($15 million), and Kroger ($1 million) and Walmart ($2.5 million).

The NFL teams and ownership groups are providing $5 million to relief efforts, while sports teams like the Lakers and Dodgers donated over $8 million. Amazon is donating $10 million through its entertainment division and contributed supplies and cloud technology to support emergency personnel.

In addition, Hollywood stars and figures such as Jamie Lee Curtis ($1 million), BeyoncĂ©’s BeyGood Foundation ($2.5 million), Paris Hilton ($200,000), and Halle Berry are financially supporting fire relief efforts.

JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America also announced they will provide some payment relief to mortgage customers affected by the wildfires.
