Hollywood’s biggest stars walked the red carpet on Sunday before the 97th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles, bringing glamour and excitement to the event.
Cynthia Erivo and Whoopi Goldberg were among the A-listers who made headlines for their stunning outfits. Erivo, nominated for Best Actress for her role in “Wicked,” channelled her character Elphaba with a sculptural forest green gown. Goldberg, an EGOT winner, wore a light pink Schiaparelli gown that paid tribute to the film’s theme.
Other celebrities who turned heads on the red carpet included Grande, Bode, Goldblum, Yang, Saldaña, Reid, Moore, Kaling, Stone, Gomez, Matlin, Jones, Finney, Torres, Fanning, Chalamet, and Iger. The cast of “Wicked” also made a statement with their on-screen-inspired looks.
Disney CEO Bob Iger was in attendance to talk about the devastating Southern California wildfires that affected many Disney employees and thousands of people in the L.A. area. Iger expressed his commitment to supporting the community and promised that Disney would continue to be involved in relief efforts.
The red carpet event also featured stunning metallic looks, including silver gowns by Demi Moore and Emma Stone, as well as black ensembles from Marlee Matlin and Coco Jones. The Oscars marked a special occasion for many celebrities, with some using the platform to raise awareness about social issues.
