Honda Recalls 200,000 SUVs Over Fuel Leak Issue

Honda is recalling over 200,000 SUVs in the US due to a fuel leak concern. The affected vehicles are 2023-24 Passport and 2023-25 Pilot models. A fuel leak can increase the risk of a fire if it’s present with an ignition source.

Dealers will inspect and repair the fuel filler neck and pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters will be mailed on January 6, 2025. Owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 or check their vehicle safety status on the NHTSA recall website.

In other news, General Motors is recalling over 132,000 trucks due to a tailgate issue. The affected vehicles are equipped with power-unlatching tailgates and may have an electronic gate-release switch that can short circuit due to water intrusion. Owners are advised to check their tailgates before driving. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies for free.
