Honda is recalling nearly 206,000 SUVs in the US due to a potential fire hazard caused by a faulty fuel filler neck. The affected vehicles include certain 2023 and 2024 Passports and some 2023-2025 Pilots. A glitch in the installation process may cause the neck to separate from the filler pipe in a crash, leading to gasoline leakage.
The company has received one warranty claim but no reports of injuries since December 2018. Despite this, Honda is taking proactive steps to address the issue. Dealers will inspect the SUVs and connect the neck tube to the fuel filler pipe if necessary. Owners will be notified by letter starting January 6.
