Honda Recalls 206K Passports and Pilots Over Fuel Leak Risk

Honda is recalling nearly 206,000 Passport and Pilot vehicles due to a potential fuel leak issue. The affected vehicles, manufactured between February 2023 and May this year, may have an incomplete connection between the fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe that could cause them to separate in a crash, leading to fuel leakage.

The problem stems from an “out of sequence process” during installation, which prevented the two components from forming a complete connection. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries or deaths related to this issue. However, Honda has received one warranty claim.

Owners will receive letters in early January informing them about the recall and will be asked to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer for inspection and repair. The dealership will provide complimentary services, including connecting the fuel filler neck to the pipe if necessary.
