Honda Motor Co. has issued a massive recall for approximately 259,033 vehicles in the U.S. due to incorrect brake pedal assembly. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) notified owners of this issue on June 16. A critical concern is that an unexpected discharge of the battery could cause passengers to become locked out or trapped inside their vehicles.
A software update to rectify the problem is reportedly in development, courtesy of Ford. The exact timeline for its release has not been specified yet.
