Honor has launched its midrange 400 series, featuring a 200-megapixel camera paired with advanced AI capabilities. The company is focusing on this feature to justify the high megapixel count, rather than just relying on raw numbers.
The Honor 400 Pro 5G and regular 400 5G models come equipped with a 200-megapixel primary camera using a Samsung-made sensor, along with optical and electronic image stabilization. Both variants also boast a 12-megapixel macro/wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.
However, the Pro model takes things up a notch with an additional 50-megapixel telephoto lens, claimed to provide impressive digital zoom capabilities. The AI-powered cameras can capture and enhance portraits, remove passers-by from scenes, create videos from still images, and even eliminate reflective glare when taking pictures through glass.
In addition to the camera upgrades, both models feature powerful processors, ample RAM, and high-capacity batteries. The Honor 400 Pro boasts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the regular 400 has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor.
Honor’s AI thread optimization will provide sustained performance under load, even during gaming or handling massive photo libraries without stuttering. Both models also come with 120Hz AMOLED displays and Android support for six years.
The Honor 400 series is now available in Europe and the UK, starting at €800 / £700 for the Pro model. The regular 400 5G starts at €500 / £400, while a cheaper “Lite” version is also available for €300.
