House Passes Bill for Epstein’s DOJ Files with Nearly Unanimous Vote

The US House of Representatives has passed a bill ordering the release of the Justice Department’s files on late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, with only one “no” vote from GOP Rep. Clay Higgins. The measure will now head to the Senate, where its fate is uncertain. A dozen victims of Epstein, including Virginia Giuffre’s brother, were present in the gallery as the vote took place. Despite criticism from House Speaker Mike Johnson and President Donald Trump earlier, the bill has gained widespread support, with over 90% of lawmakers voting in favor.

The bill aims to make available all “unclassified records” related to Epstein, his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, and other individuals involved in his activities. However, victims’ names and identifying information would be excluded from disclosure, as well as any materials that may depict or contain child sex abuse material.
