I recently discovered an AI-powered research assistant called NotebookLM that has completely transformed the way I work and live. The tool’s core concept is to create a digital notebook where you can store all your thoughts, ideas, and sources in one place. This article shares my personal experience of creating an “Everything” notebook using NotebookLM and how it has changed my workflow forever.
I have struggled with memory loss for as long as I can remember, but this tool has made it easier to stay organized and focused. By adding a source to the notebook, I can keep track of it until eternity unless I manually remove it. This means I no longer rely on my brain to remember important information that’s already stored in the notebook.
One feature that has surprised me is how well NotebookLM uses natural language to search for specific keywords or phrases within the notebook. When I save a quote, I can just search for it by keyword or explain my own interpretation, and it will pull up the exact quote with its context. This has made reading and remembering quotes much easier.
The tool also helps me stay on top of my work and personal projects. By adding links to articles I’ve written or want to write, high-performing articles, feedback from editors and readers, and recurring topics I like to pitch, I can access them whenever I need to. This has saved me a significant amount of time and stress.
In addition to these features, NotebookLM also generates ideas based on my existing content. When I provided it with an updated list of TikTok content ideas, it helped generate a script for one of them. While I wouldn’t use the script exactly as written, it gave me a solid starting point and helped me get something started.
Overall, I’m extremely grateful to have discovered NotebookLM and its “Everything” notebook feature. If you’re overwhelmed with scattered notes and forgotten ideas, building your own “Everything” notebook in NotebookLM might just be what you need to do.
