Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design is now available globally, offering a unique trifold design that bends twice to create three distinct sections, resembling an accordion. The phone expands from 3.6mm thickness when unfolded to 10.2 inches wide and can be collapsed into a typical pocket-sized phone size.
The device features advanced technology despite US sanctions blocking Huawei’s access to certain American parts. It will initially be available in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico, with more markets planned for the future.
Priced between 19,999 yuan ($2,800) and 23,999 yuan ($3,420), the phone boasts a sturdy hinge design but has raised concerns over its exposure to water and dust, as well as battery life. Despite these issues, Huawei remains confident in its product’s capabilities.
The company recently unveiled new products at a press event in Kuala Lumpur, including the MatePad Pro 13.2-inch tablet, FreeArc open-ear earbuds, and the Band 10 smartwatch with an enhanced Emotional Wellbeing Assistant.
