Huawei Unveils Pura X Flip Phone with HarmonyOS 5

Huawei has introduced its first flagship smartphone powered by the company’s in-house HarmonyOS 5 software. The device, called Pura X, is a foldable phone that runs in half to form a square clamshell design. Its exterior features a 3.5-inch display, while the interior reveals a larger 6.3-inch screen with an improved ratio for better viewing experiences.

The Pura X was showcased at a live event by Huawei’s consumer chief Richard Yu, highlighting its benefits as a more pleasant way to consume content such as reading, gaming, and browsing photos when open. This marks another step away from using Android operating system, further solidifying Huawei’s commitment to developing its own in-house software solutions.
